VOLUNTEER MINISTERS AT INTEL SOLV WASHINGTON COUNTY CLEAN AND GREEN , Oct 08

Every year the Inter-religious Action Network adopts five of the 50+ Clean and Green work sties and puts members at each sites to create inter-religious work parties.

For this 2008 Clean and Green , we had Volunteer Ministers at four of the five sites. We cleared blackberries, trimmed bushes, and weeded and barkchipped a playground. At the OR Food Bank, put their community garden to rest for the winter. At the Virginia Garcia Cornelius, we did lots of planting and clean up.

The weather cooperated nicely, making yet another productive and fun Clean and Green.

I had many wins today as a VM at Rose Festival. One man had back pains and I did a Nerve Assist. He ended off with a big smile and a "Wow! I feel so much better!" I showed him the instructions so he and his wife could do this themselves at home, as well as the many other procedures in the book. He was so happy.

Another one was a man who came in saying he is a bright person and mostly doing well, but he worries about things and this causes him stress. He wanted to know if we had the solution to that, so I showed him why that might be happening for him and what he coudl do about it. We talked at length and he was very relieved. LR

A man came in with knots around his shoulder blades.  I gave him a Nerve Assist and at the end he said he could feel tingling in his feet and the knots in his back were gone. LS

I spoke with a very bright young man who said he sometimes gets stewed up in his mind and it bothers him. Sometimes it was sadness over recently lost family members, sometimes it was anger over not having any real control/authority to make his own decisions. I taught him the "Take a Walk" procedure and had him practice it. I went over what is actually happening, and how he can use this whenever he felt stewed up. He said it was really helpful and he could see that would work for him. AD
 
A husband and wife came in so the wife could receive assistance with body aches and pains. Afterward, they saw we had some classes on marriage and communication, and in the end they decided to do those to improve their relationship so it lasts into the future.   DS
 
I talked with a man who was always fighting with his girlfriend. I showed him the How To Resolve Conflicts booklet, which teaches why people stay in a chronic state of quarrel. I showed him how a third person, talking to the two parties separately, will cause the two parties to feel bad about the other.  He spotted right away who was the third person between he and his girlfriend and how this person has wanted to split them up. He realized he was allowing this person to get their wish and was very happy to learn how to fix it.  DS

I worked with a young man and toured him through all the panels in the tent. I asked if there was one he wanted to know more about and he pointed to Study Tech. We went over the booklet and he learned the major important points so he can apply these tools.
 
I also taught him how to do a procedure with his son that would help the son be able to remember things. He was so thankful to have this tool to use on his boy.  LR 

I did Nerve Assists on tons of people, all to great results. One man said he had lots of massages in his life, "but this was... DIFFERENT. Can I hug you?" Another woman leapt off the table when done and said in amazement, "What did you do? You have angel hands!"  Another woman was pain free for the first time since a surgury she had over a year and a hald prior. What a blast! AD

A 20ish year-old came into the tent and went through the whole Cause of Suppression booklet, learning why he has had chronic ups and downs in his life, why he cannot seem to "get things right", and what is the source of all the doubts and lack of peace in his mind/heart. He said before he left, "It is going to be a new start from this day forward!" AP

Eleven Volunteer Ministers manned a booth at the Spring Body, Mind, Spirit Expo here in Portland in April. We encountered such a great group of people at this show!  All very interested to know the Volunteer Minister Corps was out there talking with folks to find out what is bothering them, and offering instant training to solve it.  There was a Special Ed teacher who was thankful to learn there`s another way to help students other than drugs. And a single father relieved to finally know what to tell his 14 year-old daughter how to handle the new world of freshman politics. Then there was a fellow vendor intrigued that she could learn exact steps to increase her new business.
